Our Location On Arran

Hazelwood Farm

Our self catering accommodation is located at the most westerly point on the Isle of Arran, just above the beach looking over to Carradale on the Mull of Kintyre and are a working sheep farm. Imachar is a hamlet two and a half miles south of the village of Pirnmill. Next door to us is the famous peacock farm.

Being westerly with a beautiful outlook we lay claim to the most spectacular sunsets on the island. We are located at the top of the brae and are two minutes walk from the beach.

The Surrounding Area

We are located 2.5 miles south of Pirnmill, 7 miles south of Catacol (near Lochranza) and 5 miles north of Machrie. Pirnmill is the nearest main village and provides a local shop and tearoom. Machrie has both a nine-hole golf course and outdoor tennis court, as well as a tearoom. Catacol has a restaurant and bar and the famous Twelve Apostles: a beautiful row of terraced cottages.

As you would expect the potential for walking is excellent. You can take the coastal walk north to Pirnmill (visiting the beach graveyard at Whitefareland) or south to Dougarie lodge and boathouse.

One of the most picturesque locations on Arran is Coire An Lochain, a loch in the hills above Thundergay (a three mile walk from Pirnmill).
